NIGHTINGALE SONG

Golden moon in cloudless skies,

stars form a patch of silver halo,

the nightingale sings most beautiful lyrics,

of undying love, and woes of a broken heart,

Magnificent, the splendor of the night,

yet, there is no sound of laughter or happiness,

as the gushing wind fans with eerie glides,

taking with her the somber, melancholy moods,

of unfufilling yearning,

The nightingale keeps on singing,

promises and vows to his beloved afar,

with tears streaming down from his heart,

covering his soul in glistening gems,

shinning bright, outshines the moonlit,

As dawn slowly breaks,

he laments with piercing sadness,

as his tears run dry, he flies to the his beloved,

with his last breath, he makes his final plea,

begging her to stay while,

And with tears in her eyes,

she kisses him goodbye,

as the dawn has stealed the night away,

and the moonlit has gone too soon,

till she reunites with her nightingale

The sea is deep, the moon is high,

the night laments in silent grace,

when the nightingale sings in whimsical melody,

many more words left unsaid,

as there are many more tests of love
