POEMS ON GAZA

Annihilation

An ocean of blood in its tidal

At the gate of annihilation

Of a nation

Of a race

Of humanity

Children cried in despair

Mothers woe in agony

Fathers mourned in misery

Earth turned crimson red

Annihilation,

Swept away in the blink of an eye

Over a nation,

Over a race

Over humanity

Annihilation,

Twilight of civilization,

A tomb on the graveyard

Of Gaza

LOOK THEM IN THE EYE

O, soldiers

You have father

You have mother

Sister and brother

And you will have son and daughter

Could you look them in the eye?

When you shoot the children?

When you color Gaza with their blood

Innocent child

Who has nothing but pure heart

Look them in eye

Before you launch the missile

And throw down your rocket

Is it bravery you seek for?

Is it victory you search for?

Is it glory to win for?

Look them in eye

And aim your gun

Look them in eye

Before you pull the trigger

For it is not bravery

It is not victory

Nor glory

CHILDREN OF TOMORROW

What was left?

In this huge killing land

But sorrows and pain

Would be there children of tomorrow?

When death besieged them

Imprisoned them with starvation,

Fear of terror and endless pain

Merciless soldiers kept an eye

A patrol of hungry vultures

A little move, paid with a bullet

A little woe, rewarded with a shot

A little despair, met with death sentence

What was left then?

Children with no future,

Who would turn anguish into hatred

A vengeance

Until the circle is full
